Valle Walkley is an independent graphic design studio with a reputation for original, engaging and considered design and creative direction within the arts, academia and publishing.

Established in 2002 by Royal College of Art graduates Daniella Valle and Richard Walkley, the south-east London duo have worked with organisations and individuals of varying scope and scale. From RCSSD and Tate Publishing, to Sir Grayson Perry and Sir Peter Blake, and a diverse range of cultural institutions, artists and long-term clients, all sharing in a collective desire to realise imaginative projects.

The eponymous practice was conceived as a catalyst for the creation of a design archive, based on collaboration and strength of concept, with an emphasis on print design and publications.

The partnership’s methodology fuses an organic, practical and responsive approach, with experimentation and attention
to detail.

Exploring the rationale behind each project alongside its physical possibilities, the studio enlists specialist contacts in the print, production and creative fields, ensuring unique and relevant designs for each client.

Past works range from the award-winning body:language series for Sadler’s Wells, multi-edition newspaper Men & Girls Dance for independent arts company Fevered Sleep, and Grain for artist Tania Kovats.

Recent projects include display graphics and identity for Susan Aldworth’s migration installation Belongings at King’s College London, Dunham’s Data, a limited edition digital humanities portfolio for Moving Data, and ‘Is this a Waste Land?’, an upcoming creative process book for Charlotte Spencer Projects documenting a performance through headphones for disused urban spaces.
