A little gem. The artist wanted the feel of a prayer book and by making it passport-sized it referenced the notion of self in Aldworth’s Parkinson brain-slice etchings and digital imagery, displayed at GV Art London.
Schneidler proved an ideal typeface: idiosyncratic, with sharp italics, its slightly rounded shape gives the impression of ‘bleeding’ into the paper. The singer sewing adds to the tactile quality, as do the ‘protective’ sheets provided by the printer and inserted between the etchings.
